One of my systems told me that SP3 "was not intended for this version of Civil 3D 2010". Odd, because the download page says that it is for ALL versions of Civil 3D 2010.
Not a bad thing, really, as I wasn't aware that this particular system had no service packs installed! So I did the SP2 install, and after that SP3 went on just fine.
