The time is here for the annual Autodesk University YouTube video contest! Entries are in, and they're ready for viewing and VOTING at http://www.autodesk.com/yt2010
Ever since the fabulous job Robin Capper did on his winning video a few years back, the contest has been one of my favorite AU leadup events. There have been some really good vids, and some have been really - well - you know.
But each and every one has been put together by a "nerd like us", pouring his/her heart into the effort to amuse the rest of us, or entertain us, or maybe just the in hope that we are so frantic to hit the STOP button that we miss and click VOTE instead,
J/K? Maybe, maybe not. I'd probably vote for something like "Plan 9 to Invade AU 2010", especially if the guy who made the video did a cameo in pink cashmere. Wouldn't you? (Vote, that is, not wear the sweater.)
Anyway, this year's entrants are all hoping to join the fun and the learning at Autodesk University 2010, coming the week after Thanksgiving at the Mandalay Bay resort/casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. They've done their part, now it's ime for us to do ours...
Follow the link (^^ up there ^^) to the virtual AU 2010 website. Sign up, or log in if you are already registered there. (Registered for AU2010 - the real one? You're good to go!) Hit the link for the video contest, watch them, and give a vote to each of your favorites. Vote for as many as you like, but you don't get to vote more than once for any one video.
Three winners will each get a free all-inclusive pass to AU2010 - the classes, the room, the evening events, the food, the beer... is that cool, or what? Speaking of beer, the winners owe one to everybody that voted for them - collectable at the AUGI Beer Bash, of course.
Voting is open through Octobr 22nd, and the winners' names will be announced on the 23rd. Good luck to all, and with luck, I'll ^5 ya there!
