Regardless of the other bad news - this is GREAT news. All the searching I had done indicated Microsoft was bailing on 64-bit ODBC for their internal apps (except SQL). Glad to hear they changed their minds. This gives us a reprieve (at least until the NEXT version). Thanks for posting this!!

You know, it IS great news. The idea that we were losing so much capability by going 64-bit was pretty upsetting. I have actually done a straight ODBC connect to a personal geodatabase (not via OGR) and all the data layers are there. Problem is, the ODBC connection is only good for linked data or point geometries.

I wonder if that has anything to do with our inability to theme linear/polygon data from geodatabases?

Lots to puzzle out, but then I like a puzzle!
